Physical science: - Collect KM HW #1
- Stamp KM HW #2
- Questions on HW #2?
- Questions on 2.1-2.9?
- answer both of these on overhead
- Demo: 2.10: set up tracks and ramps: one at relatively constant motion, one at speeding up, right next to each other. Start two marbles at the same X, such that the constant motion starts out faster, then they have the same speed, then the speeding up marble passes the other.
- Direct students to 2.10: they should diagram the path, ramps, and answer the question.
- As a class, have them call out "SAME!" when the two marbles have the same speed.
- Break it down ito the two groups: one group will call out when they have the same instantaneous velocity, one group when they pass (same average velocity). Discuss both.
- Pass out review sheet: students should work problems on notebook paper.
- Remind: data (qual and quant) and graph due next time, KM quest next time, packet and HW #2 will be due!

- Physical Science:
- In class work day!
- Remind students:
- posterboards are $3 from me, double that anywhere else in town
- need equipment? Ask!
- Work on project!
- At 15min from end of class, have students do a guided journal entry
- what did you work on today?
- what do you still need to work on, in detail?
- what are you most and least looking forward to?
- Make a calendar: when will you get all these things done? (Include family events, sports, etc.)
- HW: KM worksheet 1; remember that data is due on 5/20 and 5/21

Physical Science: - Notes on 1.1, 1.2
- define KM & uniform/constant motion
- how to measure KM (units, tools, quantities)
- how to create a constant motion track
- what data should look like (intro HW: this is what it's based on!)
- example data; graphing: 1.1
- with partners, finish 1.1 (answer G)
- notes: what does straight line mean?
- as assumption: what should data table look like for 1.2?
- as assumption: what should that look like on the same graph? (Draw in w/dotted line)
- with partners, finish 1.2 (answer C)
- Do 1.3A, 1.4A, 1.5A and B, then clean up, then finish 1.4B, C, and D. If finished early (few groups were), then start on HW.
- announce: 1.4B graph can go on the reverse of 1.1/1.2 graph, and attached to packet.
- HW graph should be separate, to turn in.
- Remind: next time is in-class work day! students MUST bring project-centered work to do, or face ASSH and JUG.
